A fresh and hilarious twist on the classic fairy tale, Cinderfella turns the traditional story on its head. Packed with outrageous characters, audience participation, terrible jokes, unexpected surprises, and all the ingredients of a great British pantomime, the production will be staged at The Bullring Theatre in Brading as part of the venue’s growing programme of original community theatre.
Written specifically for The Bullring Theatre Youth Performers, Cinderfella follows the story of a kind-hearted young man forced to work for his wicked stepfamily. With the help of a rather unusual Hairy Godfather, two questionable rats, and a cast of larger-than-life characters, he sets out on a magical journey that may just change his life forever.
Paul A. T. Wilson, Director of The Bullring Theatre and Chair of Tide Nor Time Players CIC, said:
“We wanted to create a pantomime that captures everything people love about the traditional festive experience while giving it our own unique Bullring Theatre twist. Cinderfella is packed with comedy, music, and some wonderfully ridiculous characters. ”
Alongside the announcement of Cinderfella, The Bullring Theatre is also inviting young people aged 12 to 21 to join its growing youth performing arts group.
The youth group provides opportunities for young people to develop confidence, creativity, performance skills, technical theatre experience, and friendships in a supportive and inclusive environment. Members have the opportunity to take part in original productions, workshops, community performances, and professional development opportunities throughout the year. Best of all it's FREE!

The programme is particularly welcoming to young people who may not have previously considered theatre, including those from neurodiverse and LGBTQ+ communities.
Paul added:
“Our youth theatre is about much more than putting on shows. It’s about giving young people a place where they can be creative, learn new skills in a safe and encouraging environment. Whether someone wants to perform on stage, help backstage, write, design, or simply make new friends, we’d love to hear from them.”
