The Bull Ring Theatre project at Brading New Town Hall has received a significant boost thanks to the generosity of Isle of Wight Scaffolding, who have donated scaffolding materials to help create a new lighting rig and support future stage set construction.
The donation will play an important role in the ongoing development of The Bull Ring Theatre, a community-led performance space being established through a partnership between Brading Town Council and Tide Nor Time Players CIC. The scaffolding will provide a versatile framework for stage lighting, technical equipment, and creative set design, helping the venue expand its capabilities while keeping costs low.
Isle of Wight Scaffolding (https://www.isleofwightscaffolding.co.uk) provides professional scaffolding services across the Island, covering domestic and commercial projects, temporary roofing, access towers, and emergency scaffolding. The company serves communities across the Isle of Wight and is committed to delivering safe, reliable, and professional solutions for projects of all sizes.
Paul A. T. Wilson, Director of Tide Nor Time Players CIC and project lead for The Bull Ring Theatre, said:
"We are incredibly grateful to Isle of Wight Scaffolding for their generous support of this project. As a community theatre operating on a very limited budget, donations like this make a genuine difference. The scaffolding will allow us to construct a safe and flexible lighting rig, while also giving us a practical framework that can be incorporated into future set designs and productions. Every pound we save through donations can be reinvested back into creating opportunities for local people to get involved in the arts."
The Bull Ring Theatre is currently being developed as a community performance venue, providing a home for original theatre, youth productions, live events, talks, and community activities. The project aims to create an affordable and accessible cultural space for Brading and the wider Isle of Wight.
The donation from Isle of Wight Scaffolding represents another example of local businesses supporting community-led initiatives and helping to build something lasting for future generations.
